Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) successfully concluded a highly practical and insightful three-day workshop on “The Agent-Ready Software Engineer: Skills for the New Graduate Job Market”, held from 1–3 September 2026 at the IIT City Campus.
The workshop focused on preparing participants for the evolving software engineering landscape, with an emphasis on AI-assisted software development, practical workflows, software quality, and industry-relevant skills.
As part of the programme, LeapGen IIT Accelerator interns had the opportunity to participate in this hands-on workshop and gain valuable exposure to modern software engineering tools, practices, and workflows that are increasingly relevant to the workplace.
The three-day programme covered the creation of reusable Agent Skills from large specifications, design practices including SSOT, DRY and SOLID principles, AI-assisted development workflows, error-based feedback loops, and CI/CD automation with testing and linting.

The workshop provided participants with valuable hands-on experience and a practical understanding of how software engineers can work effectively with AI coding agents while maintaining software quality and reliability.
